Mr. Johnson is in his first year of teaching and recently graduated from the University of Houston with a BM in Music Education. Mr. Johnson studied under Chester Rowell for clarinet and woodwind pedagogy. While at the University of Houston, Mr. Johnson performed with the Spirit of Houston Marching Band, Symphonic Winds, and Wind Ensemble under the direction of David Bertman. Throughout his collegiate career he taught masterclasses throughout the Houston area for clarinet/bass clarinet for preparation for TMEA Allstate.

After graduation, Mr. Johnson still performs with a variety of ensembles such as the Clear Lake Symphony Orchestra and other small chamber ensembles. Mr. Johnson is an active member of The Locrian Quartet, a clarinet chamber ensemble, who recently placed in the semi- finals for The Coltman Chamber Music Festival, which was held in Austin, Texas. 

Mr. Johnson lives in Houston, TX. He loves to play sports, powerlift, cook and go to any Houston sports event, GO STROS! He is very excited to join the Ridge Point HS Band team!
